FOR YOUNG PEOPLE
Building Your Future with Construction Apprenticeships
Did you know that the construction industry needs to recruit around a quarter of a million new people each year in order to meet the growing demand for skilled construction workers and managers? There are many different types of jobs within the construction sector, from bricklayers to wood trades like carpentry and joinery; as well as specialist mechanics and managers.
If you’re considering working in construction, getting the right start is essential. Making sure that you are getting the right training, qualifications and practical work experience ensures that you develop the right skills and knowledge required by construction employers.
Apprenticeships are considered to be the ideal route into a construction career.

So, I want to complete a Construction Apprenticeships – WHAT DO I DO?
If you are interested in a career in the construction industry, then an apprenticeship programme with Learning World Academies may be the route for you.
The programme, usually taking between 12 and 15 months to complete, works with local and national employers to select and recruit the workforce of tomorrow. You will be employed by a construction company whilst undertaking your apprenticeship. This means that you will work full time at a construction site and also have time away from work to train and gain qualifications.
You can expect to spend roughly 30% of your time at a Learning World Training Academy and 70% of your time working with your employer.
For the first 6 weeks of your apprenticeship, you will have a full induction at your local Learning World Training Academy before starting work with a construction company.
