Building the Construction Workforce of Tomorrow

Learning World Academies, Apprenticeship Plus Explained:

At Learning World Academies, our dedicated resources are designed to support you and the apprentice. We work closely with you to identify and agree your needs, allowing us to offer the best solution.

Our support officers work with you to identify any skills gaps you might have and agree a candidate profile. We’ll then recruit candidates that match the profile. Through a stringent and thorough process, we identify the apprentice’s skills and register these in relevant trades. As we recruit all year round we have the flexibility to meet the requirements of your business. Once the most suitable candidate has been identified, they then join your workforce as an apprentice. We handle all of their training requirements, working with you to make sure the training is appropriate and tailored to your needs.

Apprenticeships available in:

“I have found the trainees sent to me by Learning World Academies to be reliable and honest young people. What they may have lacked in terms of know-how and experience, they have made up for in enthusiasm and attitude.”

Graeme Smith, GS Builders

How does it work?

Initially the apprentice completes a six week induction at their local Learning World Academy. The aim of the induction is to prepare the apprentice for entering the construction environment and covers:

During the induction, apprentices are given basic construction skills in their chosen trade, covering use of tools on site, how to use tools safely, manual handling and safe storage. All apprentices are CSCS Health and Safety tested and are assessed for literacy and numeracy skills, and give additional support if needed.

To achieve qualification all individuals must pass their technical certificate and any other short training programme within the framework. Technical input is delivered at the Training Academy by qualified instructors and depending on your requirements; the apprentice can attend Training Academy either as a block placement or as a day release programme.

As the apprentices’ employer, it may be that the apprentice isn’t required on your site due to a project completion or temporary downturn in work. Should this be the case, the apprentice can return to the local HB Academy or undertake work placements with other employers.

Through every step our placement officers ensure that the apprentices and your requirements are being met.
